A resident of Australia, Dr. Monks is board certified iby the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, Fellow (FANZCVS) and the European College of Zoological Medicine (ECZM) Avian Medicine. She is a consultant for the Veterinary Information Network (VIN) in small and exotic animals as well as in birds. She owns a clinic specializing in birds and exotics in Queensland. Dr. Monks is president of the Avian Chapter Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, and on the board of directors for the Australasian chapter
of the Association of Avian Veterinarians.
