Canine tachyarrhythmias: Anti-arrhythmic drug review
There is very little peer-reviewed evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of anti-arrhythmic drugs in spontaneous canine arrhythmogenic diseases, with most data extrapolated from human studies or canine experimental studies.
Long-term survival of a dog with biclonal multiple myeloma
The dog in the present report survived for 1156 days, which is much longer than the longest survival time of 175 days in the 7 cases of biclonal gammopathy previously reported in dogs.
Brainstem auditory-evoked response (BAER) in client-owned pet ferrets with normal hearing
This procedure can be easily and safely performed in a clinical setting in ferrets as young as eight weeks of age. The prevalence of congenital deafness in ferrets is currently unknown but may be an important consideration, especially in ferrets with a white coat.

Cat May Have Ingested Light Bulb Or Inhaled Its Contents: Risk Of Mercury Poisoning
Mercury is very well absorbed when inhaled, but the cat would have to stand over the mercury source and inhale it for a long period of time before it would absorb appreciable amounts of mercury.
Dog With Refractory Dermatitis Caused By Cutaneous Lymphoma
A week ago, the dog's signs were crusty skin. Now I can palpate multiple enlarged superficial lymph nodes and the inguinal Lymph node FNA has lymphoma as the primary differential.
Veterinary Students: Coping With Nervousness During Practical Exams

Are Solo Veterinary Practices Doomed To Become Obsolete?
Small town and rural practices will go on, as before. In more urban areas, I see no option but the human model. Small offices, waiting room, 2 exam rooms, small treatment area for blood draws and very minimal procedures, and a minimal pharmacy.

Woman's Will Requests Dog be Euthanized Upon her Death Seen this sort of thing happen several times. Normally very elderly people with old dogs that have their own set of issues that wouldn't have a good shot of adjusting to a new home. Absolutely not wrong and definitely not the worst thing that could happen to most of the animals in these cases. Bizarre that people will bother this much into other people's business especially in regard to their final wishes.

Letter from a Stranger The story behind it is of an appointment this spring that I had not been looking forward to when I saw the description on the schedule: 11 year old F/S collie mix "Euthanasia - OLDER DOG, TROUBLES STANDING, LOSS OF BOWEL CONTROL, GOING DEAF AND BLIND." The client was one we very seldom see except to buy the occasional bag of food, for one previous euthanasia of an older pet, and twice for nail trims over the last 5 years.
