HAPPY HOLIDAYS From VIN!
As we near the end of 2009, the VIN staff wishes you and yours HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Thanks for making YOUR VIN community a wonderful place to live and work. We look forward to sharing 2010 with you!

Please note that the VIN office will be closed on December 24 and 25 and January 1. Responses to calls and email may take a bit longer than usual during this time. Thanks in advance for your patience.

The Evolution of VIN

The VIN Team is hard at work for you!

The VIN Wizards, Info Seeking Geeks, Tech Support Team, VINGRAM, Multimedia Team, CE Team, Consultants, Associate Editors, Reps, Reporters, Librarians, VSPN, eVetsites, VetVision, VeterinaryPartner writers and editors, Legal Support, Bookstore, Foundation, Board of Directors, Artists, VIN This Week Team and all who toil day and night making VIN, VSPN and VIN related services work for you and your staff are constantly tweaking and adding to our community.

Changes happen so often and so fast that we sometimes forget to tell you about them. That's BAD! We know it is.

Keep an eye on this section of VIN This Week to find out what new toys you can help us perfect on Beta.vin.com.

If you want the latest and greatest and want to be on the "bleeding edge" of where VIN is going, make Beta.vin.com your VIN Homepage.

The "plan" is for Beta.vin.com to help speed the testing and release of new features. Hopefully Beta.vin.com will provide the "sandbox" where we all can play knowing that if it doesn't quite work as planned, we can retreat to good-ole VIN.com and find the tested and mature features and toolsets we've all come to trust. More details.

Stability of canine pancreatic lipase immunoreactivity concentration in serum samples and effects of long-term administration of prednisone to dogs on serum canine pancreatic lipase immunoreactivity concentrations
Serum cPLI concentrations measured in canine serum samples stored at room temperature, in a refrigerator, or in a freezer at -20 degrees or -80 degrees C were stable for at least 21 days. Also, long-term prednisone administration to dogs did not significantly affect serum cPLI concentrations.

Detection of two different papillomaviruses within a feline cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma: case report and review of the literature
There is evidence that papillomaviruses promote the development of SCC on sun-exposed skin in humans. This is the first report in a cat of a papillomavirus other than FdPV-2 and the first time that multiple papillomaviruses have been detected within a single neoplasm in this species.

Characterization and quantification of ceramides in the nonlesional skin of canine patients with atopic dermatitis compared with controls
These findings suggest that decreased amounts of ceramides in the skin of dogs with AD may be involved in the impaired barrier function of their skin.

Abdominal Radiography And Evaluation Of The Stomach: Right Vs. Left Lateral Patient Positioning
If there is any gas in a dog's stomach (there usually is) and the dog is lying in right lateral recumbency (as it usually is), where is the gas bubble going to go? If you flip the dog over onto the left side, where does the gas go?
