Association between excess body weight and urine protein concentration in healthy dogs
Markedly overweight people can develop progressive proteinuria and kidney failure secondary to obesity-related glomerulopathy (ORG). Glomerular lesions in dogs with experimentally induced obesity are similar to those in people with ORG. Clinicopathologic abnormalities consistent with ORG were absent from overweight/obese dogs in this study.

    Prime Pork
My daughter, whose more than slightly warped, was watching a show talking about the benefits of organic and free range animals over regular management systems. She suggested to me that we should get several young pigs, mark each pig the numbers 1,2, 3, 5, and 7 and turn them loose. That way when we were asked where 4 and 6 were, we could claim to only be raising prime pork. I thought the idea was funny enough to hopefully brighten the day for others.
