Clinical examples will be used to illustrate these concepts. Focus will be on clinical decision making and the diagnostic process including problem-oriented clinical reasoning, the assessment of laboratory data, and an introduction to evidenced-based medicine. This module together with the first module Pathological Basis of Disease are designed to prepare the participant for the organ system-based modules. The course can be used as a portion of the preparation for the ABVP Core examination, but it is not designed as a test-preparation course.
