Reaching Out to Fellow VINners
VIN is first and foremost a community of veterinarians working toward the common goal of assisting each member to be the best that he or she can be - colleagues helping colleagues. With that goal in mind, the VIN Foundation has created several programs for VINners to support each other through difficult issues.

  • Vets4Vets: Support for VINners with all kinds of issues -- pretty much anything and everything that veterinarians go through!
    Contact Bree Montana, DVM
  • BRIDGE: a group for VINners with health conditions that affect their ability to practice.
    Contact Melissa Nixon, DVM
  • SUCers: aka the Startup Club, a group for VINners who have or are planning a startup.
    Contact Paul Pion, DVM, DACVIM
  • Vets In Recovery: a confidential, identity-protected group for VINners who are in/or seeking recovery from any addiction.
    Contact Bree Montana, DVM

To contact any of these colleagues, click on their names to view their VIN profile, then click the Email icon.

If you are an experienced DVM and have an interest in mentoring newer grads and/or experienced grads Contact Bree Montana, DVM.

You can also learn more by participating in the message board discussion.

What are the VIN Medical FAQ's?
The fastest route to an answer to your question is a VIN Database Search. But, because some topics have been discussed many times on the message boards, sorting through the results can be overwhelming.

To help you, the VIN consultants (and other experts) create up-to-date summaries (FAQs) of topics commonly discussed on the message boards.

Each article discusses the key ideas of the issue and gives you links to more detailed information. Additional articles are being added and updated constantly.

Save time and check out the Medical FAQs before you post.

Breast/Mammary Gland Cancer Awareness Poster

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Help your clients understand that mammary gland cancer in pets is the same disease as breast cancer in humans by using this awareness poster in your clinic. The pink ribbon and paw print poster is designed to be printed using 8.5"x11" paper on any office printer.

Find a pdf of this poster in the Veterinary Partner article "Boobs for Noobs: Mammary (Breast) Cancer for Companion Animals." A link to the Veterinary Partner article is also in the Miscellaneous section of the VIN Library.
