Evaluation of ilial screw loosening after triple pelvic osteotomy in dogs: 227 cases (1991-1999)
TPO screw loosening was multifactorial and related to stability of the affected ilium, screw type, and screw position. Placing cancellous screws that do not engage the sacrum in pelvic osteotomy plate positions 1 through 3 may decrease the number of screws that loosen.

Feline osteoarthritis: a prospective study of 28 cases
The elbow (45 per cent) and the hip (38 per cent) were the most frequently affected joints. Alterations in both the ability to jump (71 per cent) and the height (67 per cent) of jump (lifestyle changes) were the most frequent signs of disease. Sixty-one per cent of owners felt that their pet had made a marked improvement following administration of an analgesic/anti-inflammatory drug.

Statistical analysis regarding the effects of height and weight on life span of the domestic dog
A negative correlation was observed between height and longevity, and between weight and longevity. Weight was the significant predictor of life span, revealing that breeds smaller by weight generally live longer than heavier breeds.

Clinico-pathological findings in cattle exposed to chronic bracken fern toxicity
Monocytosis, detected in 31% of the younger animals, could represent an initial response to consumption of bracken fern and might be useful as an early haematological marker of bovine enzootic haematuria.
