Evaluation and comparison of xylazine hydrochloride and dexmedetomidine hydrochloride for the induction of emesis in cats: 47 cases (2007-2013)
Following IM administration in cats, xylazine and dexmedetomidine were similarly effective for induction of emesis, indicating that dexmedetomidine is a comparable alternative to xylazine for this purpose. Prospective studies are needed to determine the optimal IM dose of dexmedetomidine for induction of emesis in cats.

Does This Dog Have A Mast Cell Tumor? When Is Staging Recommended?
It is never wrong to thoroughly stage, and it is usually worth offering, but in the run-of-the-mill mast cell tumor, the likelihood of finding something is low (maybe 5%). I will more forcefully recommend staging if *any* of the following are present...

Funniest client episodes
This lady brings her sheep in for losing weight and ADR to the Food Animal service at A&M. The sheep is wearing a pink dress. The senior clinician excused himself from the room as we got a history (you could hear him laughing down the hall.) As it turns out, this ewe has never actually walked on grass. She eats hay, printer paper, and whatever she can get her mouth on inside the house. She also sleeps in the bed with the owner and is an indoor sheep.
