An overall median survival time (MST) and prognostic factors in rabbits with thymomas treated with megavoltage radiation therapy (RT) were determined in this multi-institutional retrospective case analysis.
Otitis media-interna and secondary meningitis associated with Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis infection in a horse
A one-year-old Thoroughbred colt was evaluated because of facial nerve paralysis, ataxia and fever. Neurological evaluation found the colt to be obtunded and grade 3/5 ataxic in all 4 limbs. Right-sided facial nerve paralysis was present and a large, deep corneal ulcer noted in the right eye.
Is it possible to use expired tubes for routine biochemical analysis in dogs?
When specimens are processed within 1 hour of collection, results of routine biochemical measurements of blood collected in lithium heparin tubes remain clinically valid for up to 11 months after expiration of tubes for the majority of analytes, except for ALP, lipase, fructosamine, and total CO(2).


What is clinic's liability if aggressive dogs are treated?
My rule is that the owners get one chance to safely muzzle their dog in front of me. If the dog even so much as looks at them, I stop the maneuver immediately and I don't see them.

I've been seeing employment opportunity ads for companies, where a guy thanks a salesperson/waiter/cashier for the service and says something to the effect of "you know, X is hiring, and with your great service attitude, you'd do great working there".
Dog with swelling and bone loss on side of muzzle (radiographs)
There is a large cystic lesion causing significant bone destruction. This is going to need better imaging followed by appropriate exploratory surgery to remove the floating teeth, the cyst lining, and other associated abnormal tissue.
Is this a normal thing to see in an employee contract?
If I read it correctly, it says the contract can be broken by either party with 30 days notice and a financial penalty equivalent to one month's wages.

How to Avoid Euthanasias 10. Have staff answer the phone in a foreign language. 9. Have staff give potential clients directions to an emergency clinic in another city. 8. Refer to "Humane Euthanasia" as "Murder." 7. Lock the door, turn off the lights and hide. 6. Make a recording of the standard euthanasia speech and play it on a continuous loop in the lobby. 5. Provide do-it-yourself euthanasia kits to owners. 4. Make the staff do it. 3. Offer a miracle cure so you can put off the euthanasia until someone else's shift. 2. Tell clients you don't provide euthanasia in order to avoid competing with the local daytime veterinarians. 1. Million dollar euthanasia fee.
