Resources to Help you Make the Most of your VIN Membership
Wondering if you are using all that VIN has to offer?

The How-to Use VIN course can help! This live three-part course is offered on the first three Wednesday nights of each month; if you prefer to learn at your own pace, you can self study.

To sign up for the live sessions, e-mail Nate at Nate@VIN.com. Tell him you'd like to sign up for the How-to Use course.

The right-hand side of the VIN front page offers rotating tips for using popular features such as Message Boards, Associate and Search.

The VIN How-to Videos showcase the main features and functions VINners enjoy most.

Last but not least, when you joined VIN, you were paired with a VIN Representative as YOUR VIN buddy! Your buddy wants to help you learn the tips and tricks to get the most from your VIN membership.

Don't remember who YOUR VIN buddy is? E-mail VINgram@vin.com and we'll be happy to remind you and let your buddy know you want to get re-introduced.

Post a Medical Video
Want your VIN colleagues to take a peek at a case for you? E-mail your video to Videos@vin.com and the VIN multimedia team will compress and convert it to a format your fellow VINners can easily view on the message boards. Read the FAQ for detailed instructions.

Need Help?
Have questions about your membership? Can't find that reference you need for a tough case? Help is a click, e-mail or phone call away! (Hint: you can find this page anytime by clicking HELP on the main VIN Navigation Bar.)

Bumping into your Colleagues? Log out!
If you are one of the many VINners who have made the switch to using http://Beta.vin.com as the way you enter VIN, you're already familiar with the convenient log out button that appears on every page of Beta.vin.com.

On Monday, August 30, we'll be changing the screen that appears when you click on the log out button. Once the change is made, after clicking on Log Out, you will receive a confirmation that you have truly logged out of VIN.

If you're still using WWW.vin.com and would like to make sure you are logged out when you end your VIN session, you may want to try http://Beta.vin.com.

If you work in a multi-doctor practice, the new VIN security system we are testing on Beta.vin.com makes it easy to be sure you are accessing and posting under your own name so you can enjoy your own personalized settings and MyStuff.

Logging out will also keep you and your colleagues from accidentally impersonating each other. This hasn't always been an easy task.

More great new features are making their debut on Beta.vin.com! If you want the latest and greatest and want to be on the "bleeding" edge of where VIN is going, make Beta.vin.com your VIN home page.

Effects of half-solid nutrients on gastroesophageal reflux in beagle dogs with or without cardioplasty and intrathoracic cardiopexy
There was no difference in the degree of gastroesophageal reflux (GER) evaluated by Bilitec monitoring between liquid and half-solid nutrients in eight normal dogs, whereas solidifying nutrients significantly reduced the frequency of reflux during the feeding periods and post-feeding periods in a model of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Meningomyelitis due to nematode infection in four cats
This report describes four cases of chronic hindlimb paraparesis in cats associated with nematode infection. The morphologic features of the nematode, location, and appearance of the lesions suggest that the parasite responsible for the paralysis in these cats is Gurltia paralysans.

The relationships between morphological features and social signalling behaviours in juvenile dogs: The effect of early experience with dogs of different morphotypes
Overall morphology of the dog was not related to either the sending or eliciting of any social signaling behaviours (social signals). However, snout length was related to both the signals sent by a dog, and especially the signals that were directed to a dog (elicited). Relationships to eye cover and coat length were also found. Possible explanations for the results are discussed, and avenues for further research are indicated.
