The Other Side of Veterinary Medicine: Healthy Clinicians Make Better Practitioners: Modules I and II
A new CE course created just for you! Good health is important for our patients, but we often neglect our health as we juggle our responsibilities. Discover how maintaining your mental and physical health can help improve patient care and client service. This course contains topics not traditionally covered in veterinary curricula or other continuing education. It incorporates information from multiple disciplines, including human nutrition, sleep and exercise physiology, psychology, and other social sciences. Featuring several instructors from disciplines outside of veterinary medicine, these modules are designed to help all clinicians learn better physical and emotional self-care. Participants can look forward to exciting intellectual challenges and developing new tools for dealing with physical and psychosocial stressors. See the course descriptions for more information on Module I (starts September 8th) and Module II (starts October 6th). Visit the CE Main Page and check out the Course Catalog to see what other courses are starting soon.

Incidence and variables associated with inadequate antibody titers after pre-exposure rabies vaccination among veterinary medical students
Twenty-nine percent of subjects had inadequate antibody titers against rabies at 2 years. Gender, vaccine type/manufacturer, BMI of 25 or greater, and more than 21 days between the first and third doses of vaccine were independently associated with inadequate antibody titers at two years. Our data would support modifying the recommendations, so the third dose is recommended at 21 days rather than 21-28 days.
