Can Reading Fiction And Poetry Make Us Better Doctors?
Being a wonderful veterinarian takes more than encyclopedic knowledge and deft hands in surgery. Join Michele Gaspar, DVM, DABVP, MA, this Sunday evening at 9 p.m. ET to learn how connecting with your clients on a personal, empathetic level can take you from being a good clinician to a superstar in their eyes. Please read A Small Good Thing by Raymond Carver prior to the session.

*This session will feature audio. Take the readiness test before attending.

The VSPN Notebook is NOT Just for Veterinary Support Staff
"I wish I had this when I was a student and new grad. It's filled with lots of the little factlets that I was always looking for, " says VIN co-founder Paul Pion.

VIN members will find the VSPN Notebook online in the books section of the VIN Library. VSPN members should look for the banner on the VSPN front page or in the VSPN Library. Members of either community can purchase a copy from the VIN Bookstore.

What Supplies/Drugs do you Keep at Home?

"I don't keep any veterinary drugs in the house, nor would I beyond what I required for my own pets. My standard response for problems is "go to the EC" (there are two very good ones within 2-3 miles of my house). I would offer to take someone with their pet to the EC if necessary (probably wouldn't stay unless it was it was really good friend). The only one who regularly bothers me about their pets is the lawyer next door, who expects everything for free. Needless to say, I discourage her as often as possible."

Post Videos on the VIN Message Boards
Want your VIN colleagues to take a peek at a case for you? Please post your video on VIN, not YouTube, because:
      1. Videos on the Internet don't usually live forever.
      2. VINners can't learn from your case if the video component isn't "part" of the thread.
      3. Some of the Consultants and Assistant Editors cannot access YouTube. (It is a blocked site at their place of employment).

Read the FAQ for detailed instructions. If you need more help just ask videos@VIN.com.
