![]() ![]() ![]() Message board discussions have two lives: the first when they are active interactive discussions between colleagues on the message boards, the second when they come up as a search result helping you and other VINners who can benefit from the prior discussion -- for years to come. Before becoming searchable in the Search Database, the tireless VIN indexing team scours each posting to ensure the search results you get make sense and to help you zero in on the content you want. When appropriate, the team creates a Descriptive Title that more clearly illustrates the key point of the post. Both the poster's Original Title and the Descriptive Title are shown in the discussion details. Words found in either title are treated as highly relevant search terms when using the VIN Search to retrieve the post. See this example and this further explanation.
Results garnered from the 423 usable responses are now available to view on VIN. If you participated in any other surveys and haven't yet seen those results, stop by the VIN Survey Results Archives.
The VIN Wizards have tested this feature on iPad, iPhone, Android, and Kindle Fire. If you aren't able to use this feature on your mobile device, please don't hesitate to let us know! Note: To view PDFs on your mobile device, you'll need a PDF viewer. iBooks (for iPhone/iPad) and Adobe Reader (for iPhone/iPad, Android, or Kindle Fire) are free. There are also some great and inexpensive apps that let you do more manipulation/highlighting/note-taking.
Evolving stories The VIN News Service (without access to the community discussions) is available to the general public. Share news.vin.com with nonVINners. Follow VNS on Twitter! Send a Twitter request to receive VNS Tweets.

Download VINCasts If you've reserved time for some quiet reading, click the Rounds button on the VIN Main Navigation bar and read the transcripts of the last few Rounds. You can also browse the complete list of the last 300 Rounds transcripts or you can click on Rounds and Discussions in the VIN Library. Rounds are also searchable via the search button. Just remember to choose Rounds (under the Clinical Resources tab) as the "Source" in your search parameters.
Take advantage of resources like Vetquest Classifieds (search for job postings or place an ad of your own!) and the AVMA Veterinary Career Center (new job postings every day!) and articles on finding Intern/Resident positions. Thanks to the continuous efforts of the VIN community, the Student Center has grown into a resource to serve all VINners. E-mail to Feedback@vin.com if you'd like to contribute to the Student Center or just share your thoughts about the new features.
The VINDEX is located on the upper right side of the Front Page, just below the navigation bar and is a handy tool to help you find many of the most popular VIN features. But if you really want to see the magic, from any page on VIN hold down your Ctrl button and push the “E” on your keyboard (Ctrl+E). So the next time you are looking for the VIN Bookstore or the calculator you used a few weeks ago, use the VINDEX. Need Help? Click Help on the VIN Main Navigation bar on almost every page to begin exploring the new and improved VIN Help Center. Meet the membership services team, find links to How-to videos, learn about Top Issues and Solutions, see What’s New on VIN, and much more.
