Canine and Feline Transdermal Gel Drug Absorption Study
Dr. Dawn Boothe is looking for patients currently receiving the following drugs either orally or transdermally and whose owners will allow the collection of two samples post-dosing: enrofloxacin, metronidazole, prednisolone, fluoxetine, amitriptyline, clomipramine, buprenorphine and cyproheptadine. The Transdermal Drug Trial will compare plasma or serum drug concentrations between the oral and transdermal groups for each of these drugs. Help Advance Veterinary Medicine! Are you looking for clinical trials for which your patients might be eligible? Want to help your patient and advance veterinary medicine at the same time? You might be able to "kill two birds with one stone." The VIN Clinical Trials and Research Projects page lists many trials currently enrolling cases. Wander over and familiarize yourself with the trials - maybe you have a client and patient that fits the bill.

Effectiveness of acupuncture in veterinary medicine: systematic review
On the basis of the findings of this systematic review, there is no compelling evidence to recommend or reject acupuncture for any condition in domestic animals. Some encouraging data do exist that warrant further investigation in independent rigorous trials.
Inherited myopathy of great Danes
Onset of clinical signs is usually before one year of age and both sexes are affected. Clinical signs are characterised by exercise intolerance, muscle wasting, and an exercise-induced tremor. Although most affected dogs have a severe form of the disease, occasional dogs may have a less pronounced form and survive into adulthood with an acceptable quality of life. Litters containing affected puppies are born to clinically unaffected parents, and an autosomal recessive pattern of inheritance is likely. All recorded cases have had fawn or brindle coat coloration.
Relationship of pancreatic duct dilation to age and clinical findings in cats
There was no association between pancreatic disease and pancreatic duct width or pancreatic duct width/pancreatic thickness ratio. Pancreatic duct width and pancreatic duct width/pancreatic thickness ratio in cats are significantly associated with age.
Physical characteristics, blood hormone concentrations, and plasma lipid concentrations in obese horses with insulin resistance
Measurements of neck circumference and resting insulin and leptin concentrations can be used to screen obese horses for insulin resistance (IR). Dyslipidemia is associated with IR in obese horses.

Frustrated By Colleatues Who Keep Undercutting My Fees; Does Care Credit Work In Your Area?
Now there is this competitive "aura" that I have never seen in our profession ever. And there are a few in this area who feel the need to undercut prices drastically. But truth be known, I don't know if they are shorting their clients from good medicine or not. How do you do a follow up for that kind of info?
What Does Mentoring Mean To You?
I really think this is going overboard. I appreciate that you want to make sure that the new doctor is practicing quality medicine, but this is the kind of thing that happens in internships (and maybe not even then). If the new graduate wanted this level of supervision, he would have opted for an internship (or just stayed in school for another year).
Kitten With Low Blood Pressure After Domitor/Ketamine/Torbugesic (DKT) Administration; Oscillometric Blood Pressure Monitors
I still don't understand how the MAP value can be of any use if we can't trust the diastolic. I thought MAP was the mean between the two, and on this board most say diastolic just can't be relied upon.
