Study: Breed Differences in Clinical Features of Hyperadrenocorticism
The Animal Health Trust UK is conducting a prospective survey study on breed differences in clinical features of canine hyperadrenocorticism in hopes that the data will help veterinarians in the diagnosis of canine hyperadrenocorticism.

Please complete this questionnaire for each case diagnosed as spontaneous hyperadrenocorticism.

Note: This is not a VIN run survey, although the VIN team has evaluated it for appropriateness and industry neutrality.

The questionnaire should take 10 minutes to complete. The information collected will be processed anonymously, and participants can request notification when results are available. Each questionnaire submitted has a chance to win a $160 Amazon voucher. If you have any queries about this study, please contact michael.bennaim@aht.org.uk.

If you've participated in VIN surveys, but haven't seen the results yet, take a look at the Survey Results page.

BETA user? The VIN Survey Viewer on Beta.vin.com lets you view and evaluate survey results in ways beyond those provided in the write-up done by the VIN survey team.

A prospective evaluation of the impact of second-opinion histopathology on diagnostic testing, cost and treatment in dogs and cats with cancer
A prospective evaluation of 52 tumors having second-opinion histopathology found major disagreements between the 1st and 2nd evaluation, which would affect either treatment or prognosis, in 37% of cases. "For the subsets of patients in which prognosis either improved or worsened, the average cost difference between first and second opinions for treatment were over $2000. Per patient, the cost of second opinion was $65."

Hemipelvectomy: outcome in 84 dogs and 16 cats. A veterinary society of surgical oncology retrospective study

Treatment For Ferret Dosed With Equine Ivermectin Paste
Ivermectin is excreted almost exclusively through the bile and undergoes enterohepatic recirculation, thus the long half life. By having charcoal in the GI tract to pick up the ivermectin as it is excreted in the bile, we can try to shorten that half life and enhance recovery.
