Buprenorphine 5 and 10 µg kg(-1) enhanced the sedation produced by detomidine 10 and 20 µg kg(-1) with minor side effects similar to other alpha2 agonist/opioid combinations. Detomidine-buprenorphine sedation is suitable for standing procedures in horses.

Prevalence of onychectomy in cats presented for veterinary care near Raleigh, NC and educational attitudes toward the procedure
Almost 21% of cats seen in veterinary hospitals near Raleigh, NC were declawed. Younger cats had a higher rate of onychectomy.

Sedative and antinociceptive effects of dexmedetomidine and buprenorphine after oral transmucosal or intramuscular administration in cats
In healthy adult cats, oral transmucosal (OTM) administration of dexmedetomidine and buprenorphine resulted in comparable levels of sedation and antinociception to IM dosing. The OTM administration may offer an alternative route to administer this sedative-analgesic combination in cats.

Should Third Injection Of Melarsomine Be Given To Dog That May Be Having A Reaction After Second Injection?
The dosing protocol is set up so that the first injection kills mostly the smaller male worms and the second set of two injections kills the larger female worms. So if the dog gets only one injection this time, it's a repeat of the first injection and will probably kill nothing more.

Pros And Cons Of Various Rebreathing And Non-Rebreathing Circuit Systems
I'm looking at purchasing an anesthetic machine. I'm having a hard time compiling a list of pros and cons for various breathing circuits and would love some opinions and help with the nomenclature.

Testing Horses For Equine Cushing's Syndrome
In the northern hemisphere, you're most likely to get a false positive in the autumn and a false negative in the spring, based on the natural cyclic nature of the hormones of the horse.

The VINDEX contains links to the most used and useful (or hard to find) VIN features.

The VINDEX is located on the upper right side of the Front Page, just below the navigation bar and is a handy tool to help you find many of the most popular VIN features.

But if you really want to see the magic, from any page on VIN hold down your Ctrl button and push the “E” on your keyboard (Ctrl+E). This will make the VINDEX magically appear.

So the next time you are looking for the VIN Bookstore or the calculator you used a few weeks ago, use the VINDEX.
