Evaluation of bacterial contamination on surgical drapes following use of the Bair Hugger(®) forced air warming system
Contamination of the surgical drapes was identified in 6/98 cases (6.1%). There was no significant difference in the number of contaminated surgical drapes between the Bair Hugger and control groups.
Presence of Leptospiral DNA in Semen Suggests Venereal Transmission in Horses
From the 10 serum samples tested, 6 (60%) were seroreactive. No pure culture was obtained, but leptospiral DNA was detected by PCR in 50% of the semen samples and 30% of urine samples.
Efficacy of Milbemax (milbemycin oxime + praziquantel) in the treatment of dogs experimentally infected with Crenosoma vulpis
The mean (geometric) number for adult C. vulpis recovered in untreated dogs was 48.3 (range 25-70) compared with 0.65 (range 0-2) in animals treated with Milbemax. The resulting efficacy against C. vulpis was 98.7%.

With stressed out, dyspneic cats, you get five points until they die. You add one point for coming into the hospital, one point for the exam and TPR, and one point for tapping the chest. Radiographs add one point, and extra taps add one point. At this point, they are dead. The point is -- more is always less with a stressed out, dyspneic cat!
