Megaesophagus Information Center
The new Megaesophagus Project brings together much of the existing VIN content about this condition.

Kathy Morris-Stilwell, DVM, and other VINners donated videos and information and provided great examples from message board discussions.

The Feeding Tips section includes video, text, and photos of "Bailey Chair" construction, a case history of the patient for whom the chair was named, and fluid administration suggestions.

The Image Collection has megaesophagus radiographs, contrast studies, and movies provided by Bill Blevins, MS, DVM, DACVR, and other VINners.

You'll also find additional reading such as Associate articles, client information handouts, contrast study guidelines from the 2011 ABVP Conference, and nebulizer use, as well as links to megaesophagus research studies.

Have you Checked out the VIN Specialty Centers yet?

  • Practice Management
  • Equine
  • Diagnostic Imaging
  • Dermatology
  • Endocrinology

  • Urology
  • And many, many more...

On each center's main page, you'll also find a quick link to the corresponding folder on the message boards and other available resources, like Fun Cases and Image Libraries.

Herpesvirus dermatitis in two cats without facial lesions

What do you want the veterinary insurance companies to know?
Frankly, at this point I have even less assurance that a pet insurance company will pay than I do that the client will pay, so I am even less inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait until morning.

Is that like elf mutilation?
Elf-induced alopecia is actually a misnomer. It is really Pixies - they taunt the cats by pulling hair until they are crazy (Pixilated). I expect that not everyone can tell elves and pixies apart from a distance.
