Add Signalment to Your Message Board Post
Signalment is the first critical piece of any clinical case presentation.

Adding your patient's information to the signalment form keeps that info highlighted at the top of every post in the thread so consultants/editors and all VINners have easy access to these critical details. Learn more.

The signalment form is active in most medical folders and will soon be expanded to the remaining medical folders.

As always, your feedback is appreciated!

Assessing the effectiveness of the Birdsbesafe® anti-predation collar cover in reducing predation on wildlife by pet cats in Western Australia
In the first year of the study, which focused on the effectiveness of different BBS colours, captures of prey with good colour vision were reduced by 54% when cats were wearing a BBS of any colour, with the rainbow and red BBS more effective than the yellow when birds were prey.

Risks To A Pregnant Owner From Doxorubicin Exposure
I usually say, "Yes, chemotherapy drugs can cause fetal harm if you are exposed to them. I can teach you how to minimize exposure, but I cannot eliminate it completely. You should discuss this risk with your doctor and your family."

Treating Dental Disease Based On Radiographs
Dental disease that requires treatment is not limited to periodontal disease, but also includes a whole range of diseases in which the teeth can be perfectly stable -- with neither mobility nor pockets (in other words, periodontally healthy).

Any Surgical Options For Cat That Has Bilateral Congenital Hindlimb Deformities? Video Of Cat Walking On Only Her Forelegs
The bottom line, there is no simple or easy way to correct the limb deformities. Even with fairly complex arthrodesis of multiple joints, it's hard to say if the cat would appreciate the efforts.

The Ups And Downs Of Being A Relief Veterinarian
The days I see only four appointments drive me totally nuts. I dread those days. I could have easily booked that day with a different clinic with a busier schedule. So, for me, discounting that day would be detrimental to me both psychologically and financially. But, the great thing about being a relief vet is you can do what you want when it comes to charging a clinic.

Small Rodent Review 2016
June 22 – August 6, 2016

Small rodents are commonly seen in private practice, and many veterinarians have a limited working knowledge of this species. This course is intended to provide an in-depth overview of husbandry, medicine, and common disease presentations by species in order to allow veterinary staff to feel more comfortable with basic rodent diagnosis and treatment. Clinical symptoms, diagnosis, treatment options, and current considerations for prevention will be covered.

Dental Radiograph Interpretation
October 3 - November 10, 2016

The course is focused on the participant getting the maximum benefit possible from the use of digital intraoral (dental) radiology. It will introduce the concept of what is a good veterinary dental intraoral radiograph, how to take it, and how to correct errors. Radiographic anatomy of canine and feline teeth will be covered as well as non-pathological and pathological variations, and normal/abnormal anatomy of the mandible and maxilla for such things as developmental disease, periodontal disease, endodontic disease and orthodontic disease.

Visit the CE Participant Resource Center to learn the basics of online CE, how to find your course area, CE participation requirements, and much more!
