Osteoarthritis of the temporomandibular joint in southern sea otters (Enhydra lutris nereis)
The most prominent changes were the presence of osteophytes and subchondral bone defects and porosity. The mandibular condylar process and fossa were affected equally.
Ectopic pregnancy through a caesarean scar in a ewe
A routine ultrasonographic examination for pregnancy diagnosis in a 3-year-old ewe revealed a normal embryo located in the uterine cavity and an abnormal mass located in the abdomen. At the time of examination, the ewe was 4.5 months pregnant, but 10 months previously she had undergone a caesarean section due to dystocia.
Apgar score after induction of anesthesia for canine cesarean section with alfaxalone versus propofol
Both alfaxalone and propofol can be safely used for induction of anesthesia in bitches undergoing emergency cesarean section. Although puppy survival was similar after the use of these drugs, alfaxalone was associated with better neonatal vitality during the first 60 minutes after delivery.

How To Tell If Mineralized Densities Seen Within Dog's Lungs On Radiographs Are More Likely Benign Lesions Or Neoplastic?
With neoplasia, there will be a soft tissue component to the nodule. When a mineralized nodule is completely mineralized, it is benign. It may be a pulmonary osteoma, pulmonary calcinosis, or an old mycotic granuloma that has healed.

Requirements For Valid Veterinarian/Client/Patient Relationship (VCPR) In California
You can prescribe a drug previously prescribed by a colleague at your practice, if indicated. You can not prescribe a new drug based on a colleague's exam.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Have Idiopathic Asymptomatic Thrombocytopenia
I would take this dog off immunosuppressives. Steroids and other drugs will not change the platelet counts in these dogs.

Office manager stealing "The thing that bothers me is that this may be happening all around the country and who is the wiser? There are many ways companies try to get you to purchase products and, if the practice manager talks to the reps, so easy to steal it all. Even Staples often gives companies debit cards for ordering a certain amount of products at different times. It just bothers the crap out of me that these companies are giving out these perks that are so easy to steal. All the practice manager needs to say is the doctor isn't available and they will let the doctor know or give it to the doctor."

People are crazy! "I think understanding what we can and cannot control is important to consider. I appreciate those experienced vets who enjoy and reach out to mentor us younger vets. I am pretty happy with where I am with interactions with the folks like this. I am wondering whether any of you have any suggestions for when one works in a practice where the owners/managers think that every client must leave happy. Obviously we all want people to be happy and value our services. Overall though, if there is an interaction in which there is tension and I am not bothered by that conflict and unhappiness, but my employers are, where do you suggest I go (in terms of direction) and what do you suggest I do."
