Discovery of new feline paramyxoviruses in domestic cats with chronic kidney disease
Recently, feline paramyxoviruses, genus morbillivirus, were detected in cats from Hong Kong and Japan. Infections with these diverse viruses were detected in urine samples from cats suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD). No viral RNA was found in cats without clinical signs of uropathy, highlighting an association between feline paramyxovirus (FPaV) infections and CKD.

272 cases of rattlesnake envenomation in dogs: Demographics and treatment including safety of F(ab')2 antivenom use in 236 patients
Medical records of 272 rattlesnake envenomations of canines between 2010 and 2012 were investigated. The objectives were to examine the patient demographics, severity of clinical signs, and treatment modalities employed, in order to discuss the outcomes of certain therapies including glucocorticoid use, antibiotic use, rattlesnake vaccination, and safety of antivenom administration in dogs. In view of the results of this study, there is no evidence that use of glucocorticoids, diphenhydramine, prophylactic antibiotics, or vaccination lessen morbidity or mortality.

What is "condescending" to you?
I'll be honest -- I never have any idea of the times I come across as condescending. I've been told that it may be when I slow down and use simpler terms, but I often do that with clients since (a) I speak fairly quickly and (b) I make an assumption that they don't want to hear "medicalese." I've also had clients that have complained that I speak too fast and I don't explain things well. It seems like a damned if you do, damned if you don't issue.
