Power Outage

"We had a power outage at my place early yesterday morning. My computer, TV, DVD & my new surround sound music system were all shut down.

Then I discovered that my iPhone battery was flat and, to top it off, it was dark and raining outside so I couldn't go for a walk and reading by the pool was out of the question.

I went into the kitchen to make coffee and then I remembered that this also needs power, so I talked with my wife for a few hours.

She seems like a nice person."

Companion animal veterinarians' use of clinical communication skills

Severe Intussusception Found In A Young Dog That Had Extremely Dilated Loops Of Intestines Seen On The Radiographs
My patient went to surgery the next day and it was discovered to have one of the nastiest intussusceptions that I had seen in a good long time. I've got some pictures to follow, but this is what I think happened.

Treatment For Rabbit With Uveitis; Risks Of Using Steroid Eye Drops In Rabbits
As exotic animal vets, we see the many rabbits (and guinea pigs) that get treated with topical prednisone, sometimes *one* dose, and then develop severe hepatic/pancreatic and immune complications.

Poor Control Of Hyperthyroidism In A Cat Whose Owner May Not Be Giving Medication Correctly
I've had really good owners who think they're getting all the meds into the cat, but when we switch to a simpler method of administration, the blood levels return to normal.
