Found "Gold"? Stash It in MyStuff!

We've all been there... After a bit of tinkering, your VIN Database Search produced just what you wanted to know now -- and likely will want to know, again, in the future.

Keep your results at your fingertips -- Save your Search results (gold) in your MyStuff. Click "Add Search Results to MyStuff". Next time you need the same information, find it by clicking MyVIN on the VIN Main Navigation Bar.

Are you a power VINner who refines your searches by selecting (clicking the check boxes) the best of the best from your Search results and displaying them as a custom Search result (Display Checked)? You too can stash your gold by choosing "Add Checked Results to MyStuff".

Happy Searching!

Welcome to Wedgewood Pharmacy, the newest folder participant in the Vet Industry message board!

We're excited by the opportunities to share knowledge and support that Wedgewood Pharmacy will bring to the VIN community. Please take a moment to welcome our newest addition to the Vet Industry message board. Remember to post your questions about the company's services. (While you're in the industry folders, check out all of the other companies that are willing and able to answer your product questions!)

A Note From Paul About Industry on VIN:
As a result of the recent rapid rise in the number of industry folders on VIN, a few have written to ask if VIN has changed its position regarding independence from industry.

Rest assured that nothing has changed. VIN remains committed to the VIN Policies on Commercialism.

We all benefit from increased communication and access between colleagues in practice, academia, and industry. Facilitating this communication is our goal. We are pleased that more of our colleagues in industry are recognizing this and joining the discussion.

A Comparison of the Survival Times of Dogs Treated with Mitotane or Trilostane for Pituitary-Dependent Hyperadrenocorticism
The survival times of 148 dogs treated for pituitary-dependent hyperadrenocorticism were studied using clinical records from 3 UK veterinary centers between 1998 and 2003. Of these animals, 123 (83.1%) were treated with trilostane, while 25 (16.9%) were treated with mitotane. Importantly, there was no significant effect of drug choice on survival.

Common abnormal findings in the peripheral blood of dogs with pericardial effusion included hyperlactatemia, hyponatremia, hyperglycemia, and hypermagnesemia. Bicarbonate, sodium, ionized calcium, glucose, and hematocrit were all significantly lower in the pericardial fluid compared with peripheral blood.

Differentiating Benign and Malignant Causes of Lymphocytosis in Feline Bone Marrow
Immune-mediated anemias and chronic inflammatory diseases appear to be major causes of reactive lymphocytosis. The proliferating lymphocytes tend to be organized into lymphoid aggregates in bone marrow and are mostly B cells.

In Vitro Efficacy of Lufenuron against Filamentous Fungi and Blood Concentrations after PO Administration in Horses
Lufenuron is a benzoylphenyl urea-derived insecticide that has been recently introduced as a novel treatment for fungal infections in horses. The purposes of this study were to determine (1) the in vitro efficacy of lufenuron against Aspergillus and Fusarium spp. and (2) the ability of lufenuron to reach efficacious blood concentrations after PO administration in horses. Lufenuron showed no effect on the in vitro growth of Aspergillus or Fusarium spp.
