Food in the mediastinum of a cat after accidental misplacement of esophageal feeding tube
Our resident surgeon in the hospital (I do surgery too, but he is much more experienced) is ready to place a PEG tube to bypass the esophagus and then we are planning on starting Baytril and Ampicillin injections. Is the world, as veterinarians know it, really ending?
Quite frankly I ride a wave: some days I am cautiously optimistic. Some days I think the world is ending; all vets will soon be unemployed (myself included); no one will care about their pets and we will return to the days of snake oil salesmen in horse-drawn carts. These are generally the days that I have read threads on VIN.
