Start the New Year off with a VIN Group Membership!
Colleagues working in the same practice qualify for group membership rates!

Each practitioner enjoys the benefit of an individual account and personal login - maintaining preferences and professionalism - with the added convenience and savings of Group Membership billing.

Remember, there is no such thing as a VIN 'Hospital' membership where all colleagues use the same login. Every colleague at every hospital must have their own account/login, even if the billing is handled as a group membership within the hospital. (Check out this discussion on the VIN message boards about sharing login details.)

This FAQ will explain how group memberships work. If you still have questions contact membership services at vingram@vin.com, or call membership services at 1-800-700-4636 (toll free) or 1-530-756-4881 (locally) or 01 45 222 6154 from the UK.

Missed Another Rounds Session?
There's an easy way to catch up on what you missed... Replay!

Participate in rounds on your own schedule! Replay is like attending the live session, except you'll post your questions and comments to the Message Boards. Look for Session Recordings on the left side of the individual Rounds pages or Rounds Replay in the 'In this Rounds...' box at the top of the transcript. Read the help document for more details.

Tip: Subscribe to the discussion to be notified via email when there's a response to your post.

Canine dacryolithiasis: a case description and mineral analysis

Bilaterally symmetrical alopecia with reticulated hyperpigmentation: a manifestation of cutaneous lupus erythematosus in a dog with systemic lupus erythematosus
These signs were consistent with a unique alopecic variant of chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus, eventually associated with the development of systemic lupus erythematosus. This rare form of chronic cutaneous lupus needs to be added to the expanding list of lymphocyte-mediated autoimmune alopecias in dogs.

Bilateral Canine Lobular Adenoma In Dog With Chronic Periocular Eyelid Swellings/Masses (Photographs)
Tell the surgeon that these tumors have a thin capsule, if any, so it is easy to get into the mass which doesn't hold together but breaks up into Tapioca-like material. Patience and some suction are key -- as well as respecting the normal anatomy.

The fastest route to an answer to your question is a VIN Database Search. But, because some topics have been discussed many times on the message boards, the number of results can be overwhelming.

To help you, the VIN consultants (and other experts) continue to create up-to-date summaries (FAQs) of topics commonly discussed on the message boards.

      The Year in Review
What are your most memorable cases / clients for the year? I have to say my most memorable one gives me great pause as to the future of this country. A 19-year-old girl, baby, and "fiance" in tow, brings in a mini-pig for not eating. She brings it in in an aquarium, with cedar chips in it. It was about 8 weeks old. When asked what she was feeding it she replied; "Cheerios." Anything else? "No, just Cheerios. That's what they told us to feed it so it would stay this size."
