Description:
Based on new data, the incidence of gastroesophageal reflux is too often under recognized and addressed, especially in canine patients. This course will briefly review the relevant pathophysiology of GERD, and focus on diagnosis, and effective current therapies.

To earn a certificate of completion the participant must complete all learning modules and score 80% or better on the end-of-course test. Completion of the course will take a minimum of 59 minutes. Participants must complete the participation requirements by June 30, 2023 to be eligible for a certificate.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to
  • To review relevant pathophysiology of GERD
  • To review currently available diagnostic tests for GERD
  • To review logical & effective therapies for GERD


Level and Prerequisites: This basic VIN CE Self Study course is open for enrollment to Veterinarians interested in the diagnosis and treatment of GERD This course is open to VIN members only.
Accreditation: This non-interactive course is approved for 1 hour of continuing education credit by RACE for veterinarians. (RACE 20-843074)
