American Association of Zoo Veterinarians (2010)
Welcome to AAZV 2010
Welcome to South Padre Island for the 3rd annual Exotic Animal Medicine for the Clinical Practitioner Conference sponsored by the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians! It is our goal to provide an excellent, clinically relevant program for veterinarians seeing exotic animals
in private practice.
The AAZV has been holding annual conferences to share knowledge and experiences with our colleagues for over 40 years, and will be meeting immediately after your conference. You are most welcome to join AAZV and attend our conference. The proceedings, as well as our quarterly scientific publication “The Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine” are both valuable resources available to members. Please visit www.AAZV.org for more information.
We have an excellent program for you this year, thanks to the hard work of Dr. Deidre Fontenot and all of this year’s lecturers. Many thanks also go to Dr. Rob Hilsenroth and Pam Brownlee for taking care of all of the details of the conference, and to the American College of Zoological
Medicine for sponsoring this conference for Continuing Education credits.
I hope the conference meets or exceeds your expectations, and that you also have time for fun in the sun of South Padre Island! Enjoy!
Jan Ramer, DVM, DACZM
President, American Association of Zoo Veterinarians
