In this talk you will learn to look at the world with a cow’s-eye view. Some of the behavioral principles that will be discussed will be the flight zone and point of balance. There will also be a discussion of trouble-shooting and fixing problems in cattle handling facilities that cause cattle to balk and refuse to move through a facility. Some distractions that cause balking are a loose piece of chain hanging down in a chute or a shiny reflection on a puddle. Learning behavior principles will make handling easier and help improve cattle productivity.
