VIN offers to its members, and to non-member veterinarians, high-quality educational courses. Courses are held online and are taught by leading specialists. Online Continual Education enhances veterinary medicine by allowing veterinarians to expand their knowledge from their office or home with courses provided in a convenient, easy-to-use format. VIN's course offerings are comparable in scope to those of veterinary schools, and are unmatched by any other online service in any profession.
VIN online CE courses have 3 main components. Real-time sessions are held, usually for two hours once weekly, in the VIN Unity conferencing center. Course participants log in for a live interactive session with the instructor(s). These sessions are logged for future study and to ensure participants unable to attend at the actual time of the session will have access to all materials from their course. In addition to the real-time sessions, each course has a library of course materials, including such resources as handouts, slide shows, and movies. Each course also has an interactive message board for an ongoing dialogue between participants and instructors on the course material.
Note: VIN courses are approved for continuing education credit in jurisdictions that recognize American Association of Veterinary State Boards' (AAVSB) Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE) and in selected other states. However participants should be aware that some boards have limitations on the number of hours accepted in certain categories. Information on state and provincial CE requirements is available at RACE/Getting Credits. Participants are encouraged to check with their licensing jurisdictions if they have any questions regarding recognition by their board.
