The concept of Aquavet was begun in 1976 and has grown to a program of education, research and service. In two weeks, the fifth class of Aquavet students will begin the intensive 4-week course at Woods Hole, bringing the total number of students who have participated to 146. The research phase will have supported 23 students in summer projects by the end of the current year and a diagnostic service/research laboratory will enter its second year of operation at the MBL this summer. The activities of the program and its aspirations will be examined.
