Paul Pion, DVM, DACVIM

Dr. Pion is board certified in cardiology. He is the president and co-founder of the Veterinary Information Network (VIN). Dr. Pion is the researcher responsible for discovering that cats need taurine to prevent heart disease, winning the NIH Physician Scientist Award and the Purina Small Animal Research Award. He has taught veterinary students at UC Davis, been an advisor for the Feline Winn Foundation, co-authored Cats for Dummies and was the veterinary advisor for Dogs for Dummies. He lives in Davis, California, the headquarters of VIN.
