- Understand how to take a thorough and appropriate history for a toxicology patient
- Understand and differentiate the major types of rodenticides that are available
- Understand treatment and monitoring recommendations for several common toxins

Course Agenda:Week 1 (Real Time Session April 2): Taking A Good History
This session starts us off with the basics. How does case flow happen at your hospital? Do you utilize poison control? We will also discuss at length taking a thorough history. This short session will start with a quick review of common anesthetic drugs used for multimodal anesthesia/analgesia. We will then discuss constant rate infusions, proper calculation of the CRI for administration in both a bag and syringe pump, and then finish up with discussion and videos on various locoregional block techniques.
Week 2 (Real Time Session April 9):
Your Pet Ate What?
Building on the previous session, we’ll examine some common things pets eat that, while they are considered toxic, are of much less concern. Conversely, we’ll also look at some of the more severe agents we encounter in veterinary medicine.
Week 3 (Real Time Session April 16):
Rodenticides
This last session is dedicated solely to rodenticides. Why? Because they are a top-3 call for the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center year after year, and knowledge about their differences and identification is crucial.
