This course has been RACE approved for veterinary technicians/technologists. (22-32835)
Course Description:
Anesthesia on healthy patients is not without complications and is too often taken for granted and performed without adequate planning or preparation. However, with any emergency presented to triage, a thorough pre-operative assessment must be performed and patient assessment begins with the first step inside the door. The stressed and ill emergency patient will have altered physiological responses that will in turn alter the pharmacokinetics of the agents commonly used to provide anesthesia. This course is designed to assist you in your management of the most common emergent presentations that will need anesthesia. We will cover: Gastric dilatationvolvulus, feline urethral obstruction, dystocia and proptosis.
