Small animal protocols also discussing risks, benefits, and recent literature to support the use of various drugs and analgesic techniques so that you feel comfortable making medical decisions for these patients. The second session is designed to review c-section in bitches and queens from the surgical perspective (with an emphasis on c-section in the bitch). A review of recent literature on c-sections will also be provided. This course will not discuss neonatal care.

  • understand which anesthetic drugs are safer during pregnancy, and which come with excess risk.
  • know what locoregional anesthetic techniques can be performed for Cesarean section analgesia and learn the steps in performing these.
