Course Information:
This course is an in-depth look at the safety and usage of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, including evidence-based medicine reviews and meta-analysis on the effectiveness of adjunctive HBOT in the treatment of a variety of disease processes including exceptional anemia and wound healing. Numerous case examples with a variety of indications will be included in the presentation.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to
  • understand the physiologic actions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
  • determine which small animal patients may benefit from adjunctive hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
  • appreciate the technique and equipment involved in providing hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Level and Prerequisites: This basic VIN CE course is open for enrollment to veterinarians and veterinary technicians/technologists actively interested in the benefits of adjunctive hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Accreditation: This course has been submitted (but not yet approved) for 2 hours of continuing education credit for veterinarians and veterinary technicians/technologists in jurisdictions which recognize RACE approval.
