Did you ever think that just treating ferrets was complicated enough? How about the geriatric ferret, with multiple medical conditions? In this course, we will break down the most common diseases seen in the older ferret, and provide some structure to figuring out what is priority and how to go about maximizing quality of lift for these complicated little senior citizens so beloved by their owners! To earn a certificate of completion the participant must complete all learning modules and score 80% or better on the end-of-course test. Completion of the course will take a minimum of 185 minutes. Participants must complete the participation requirements by December 31, 2022 to be eligible for a certificate. Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to
- perform a thorough history and physical examination of the senior ferret.
- sort through an appropriate diagnostic work up (and complete it!).
- prioritize the findings, and develop a treatment plan.
- adjust, adjust, adjust! We all know ferrets don’t “read the book” – so get ready to think outside the box!
