The course will provide an introduction to endoscopy including the indications for performing procedures, an outline of the required equipment for flexible and rigid endoscopy, how to care for/clean/setup the endoscopes and a review of available endoscopic accessories. Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to
- discuss the types of rigid and flexible endoscopes currently available.
- recognize the indications for performing endoscopy.
- describe how to setup, care for, and clean endoscopic equipment.
- discuss available endoscopic accessories and the indications for each.
