Level and Prerequisites: This basic course will be open to veterinarians actively interested in veterinary dermatology. There is no specific prerequisite experience or knowledge required for this course.

Course Information:
Therapeutic Hotline 2019- what's new and interesting in dermatologic therapy? This course will present some of the latest information about derm therapy. Interesting modalities and what may be cutting edge in treatment. Demodicosis: what's old, what's new? Current research and case material about one of the oldest diseases in veterinary dermatology. Also, how to use the latest treatments for the best patient outcomes. Canine Bacterial Pyoderma and methicillin resistance. This hour will provide an overview one of the most common diseases in small animal practice and how to deal with methicillin resistance. Rare, Interesting and Fun Derm Cases. From the case files of a dermatologist, these cases rare, interesting and yes, fun! Test you clinical acumen and enjoy some wacky skin cases.

Week 2 (Real Time Session April 3, 2019): Canine Bacterial Pyoderma and Methicillin Resistance & Rare, Interesting and Fun Derm Cases

Objectives: Upon completion of this session, the participant should be able to
  • Discuss the most common diseases in small animal practice
  • Discuss how to deal with methicillin resistance

About the Presenter:
VIN Consultant and ACVD boarded dermatologist Mitchell D. Song received his veterinary degree from Mississippi State University and completed a residency in dermatology at the University of California, Davis. He is currently the owner of Animal Dermatology, PC in Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona USA.
