Below are some guidelines for creating a list of references or a bibliography for a VIN presentation or publication.

Journal Articles

Note: When abbreviating journal names, use abbreviations provided in PubMed's Online List of Serials. To find these abbreviations,

  1. Visit PubMed's Journals Database.
  2. Click on Limits.
  3. Check the box labeled "Currently indexed in MEDLINE."
  4. Then click on the GO button.

Example (1-3 authors):
Harkin KR, Roshto YM, Sullivan JT. Clinical application of polymerase chain reaction assay for diagnosis of leptospirosis in dogs. J Am Vet Med Assoc. 2003;222(10):1224-29.

Example (More than 3 authors):
