Instructor Setup

If you have never taught with VIN or VSPN CE, some preliminary paperwork about payment and the IRS must be completed.  We will need a completed Independent Contract Agreement, a W9 if you are a US citizen, and an ACH (Electronic Deposit Agreement) if you want your payment to be automatically deposited to your bank account.

Regarding RACE accreditation, each instructor needs to provide a current Curriculum Vitae (CV) and, depending on circumstances, may need to provide an additional 3 letters of recommendation from colleagues boarded/credentialed in the field of study that your course topic covers.  Your course facilitator will let you know if these are needed.

Additionally, you will be asked to complete a short friendly biography page that will be made available to the public as part of the course description.

Getting a Course Ready

Developing a new course can take up to 6 months or more. During this time, our staff will work with you to create the course, including the course information page, level/prerequisites, and content, as well as fully support you throughout the completion of the course.

  1. Initial work on course content begins with creating the course information page: course description, objectives of the course, weekly content outline, and any required or recommended texts or reading
  2. Next, we’ll help you coordinate completing your course materials, including handouts for the course library, interactive learning items, slideshows, etc
  3. Your lecture notes for the Real Time Session will follow and should be, at minimum, an outline for an audio course.
  4. Once the course opens, you will actively participate with the enrollees via the Message Board discussions and during the Real Time Sessions.
  5. Upon completion of your course, we’ll provide a compilation of the evaluations submitted by the participants and discuss any potential future course topics you might like to offer, as well as the re-run of this course.

Your Support Team

Although course development seems like a lot of work, our staff will help guide you through the process to ensure YOUR material is as you want it to be, but also so that it adheres to VIN/VSPN’s guidelines for clarity and use for participants. We assign you a facilitator who will be your guide and aide throughout the entire course from start to finish, keeping you on track, assisting you with technical issues or questions, and ensuring your experience is as smooth and as pleasant as possible. In addition, VIN’s multimedia and other team members can help with any special items you wish to include to make your course stand out.

Training/Materials Review

Your facilitator will arrange for you to receive one-on-one training in our Zoom classroom. This classroom can also be used to practice your presentation and review your Real Time Session materials if you would like to do so.
