Managing your Pop-up Blocker

A pop-up blocker is a tool built in to the browser that prevents Web site pop-ups from displaying.


The challenge with this software is to distinguish a valid pop-up from an advertisement.
VIN will never utilize pop-ups as advertisements.

To disable your browser's pop-up blocker, follow the steps that apply to your browser:

Microsoft Edge (Windows 10)
Internet Explorer 10 or 11 (Windows 8 & 10)
Internet Explorer 9, 10, or 11 (Windows 7)
Internet Explorer 7 or 8
Firefox
Google Chrome
Safari
iPad/iPhone
Android phone/tablet (chrome browser)


Microsoft Edge (Windows 10)

  • Open the desktop, and then tap or click the Microsoft Edge icon on the taskbar.

  • Click the More icon (three dots) in the upper right corner of the window.

  • Click Settings.

  • Use the scroll bar to scroll down to Advanced settings.
  • Click View advanced settings.

  • Look for the Block pop-ups button near the top of the menu.
  • Click on the button to turn the pop-up blocker off.

  • Click the More icon again to close the menu.

Internet Explorer 10 or 11 (Windows 8)

Pop-up Blocker settings only apply to Internet Explorer for the desktop.

  • Open the desktop, and then tap or click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.

  • Tap or click the tools icon (cog) in the upper right corner of the window.

  • In the menu that appears, tap or click Internet options.

  • Choose the Privacy tab at the top of the window that opens.

  • Uncheck the box next to Turn on Pop-up Blocker and choose apply.

Internet Explorer 9, 10, or 11 (Windows 7)

  • Click the tools icon (cog) in the upper right corner of the window.

  • In the menu that appears, click Internet options.

  • Click Tools from the menu along the top.

Firefox

  • Click Tools from the menu along the top.

  • Choose the Content tab/icon along the top of the window that appears.

  • Uncheck the box next to Block pop-up windows and choose OK.

Google Chrome

  • Click the Chrome menu button.

  • From the menu that appears, click Settings.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the settings and click Show advanced settings.

  • Click the Content settings button.

  • Select the radio button for Allow all sites to show pop-ups, and then click Done.

Safari

  • Open Safari, and then click Safari from the top menu.

  • In the menu that appears, choose Preferences.

  • In the window that appears, choose Security from the icons at the top.

  • Uncheck the box next to Block pop-up windows and close the window.

iPad/iPhone

  • From the home screen, open the Settings app.

  • On an iPad, find Safari in the list on the left. On an iPhone, just find Safari.

  • In the Safari Settings, be sure that Block pop-ups is turned off.

Android phone/tablet (Chrome)

  • Open the Chrome browser application on your device.
  • Open the menu by clicking the appropriate menu button on your device.
  • From the menu, choose Settings.
  • Under the Advanced section, choose Content Settings.
  • Uncheck the box next to Block pop-ups.
