Despite its biodiversity, research on the reptile fauna in Brazil is restricted to alpha taxonomy. To enhance our understanding of the biogeography of this group and outline strategies for effective conservation to preserve the evolutionary potential of existing lines are surveys needed an electronic database of all the herpetological collections and phylogeographic studies based on molecular genetic techniques. ecological studies, populations and communities, which monitor the effects of degradation, fragmentation and loss of habitat, pollution and exploitation are also required for a better understanding of the effects of ecosystem degradation in Brazil. Through scientometric survey it was found that the genetic variability of Boa constrictor snakes is low due to deforestation, habitat fragmentation, hunting, and the commercial value due to the quiet nature of the species they are quite sought after by pet-malls to be created as pets. These factors affect the genetic structure leading to the loss of rare alleles, heterozygosity and reducing the increase of inbreeding. The loss of alleles leads to a reduction in the ability of species to respond to environmental adversities in future generations leading to reduced adaptability of the species. Therefore, the characterization of the degree of variability and genetic structure and the knowledge of handling alleles provide the necessary basis of the implementation of strategies to maximize the efficiency of management and genetic conservation of the species Boa constrictor programs in Brazil.
