Atypical Mycobacteriosis in a California Sea Lion (Zalophus californianus) at the Audobon Park Zoo

A nine year old female California sea lion died on March 5, 1985 following extensive treatment for weight loss, cutaneous and subcutaneous abscesses and general demise. M. smegmatus, a Runyon group IV mycobacterium was isolated from several areas of the animal's body following necropsy.
