Development and Description of the Vesical Laparoscopic Technique

The purpose of this experiment was to adapt a human laparoscopic technique (minimal invasive technique) to dogs, in pathologies such as urolithiasis, to know its feasibility, complications and morbidity.

This work was analyzed by an open, descriptive, prospective and transversal design. It was used six dogs in each group, A (four ports) and B (three ports); considering an alpha of 0.01. The anesthesia was made by propionylpromazine 10% (0.05 mg/kg IM) and sodic pentobarbital 6.3 g/100 ml (25 mg/kg IV). The dogs were placed in Trendelenburg position and the pneumoperitoneum was done with CO< sub >2< /sub > under a pressure of 14 mmHg. In both groups they were de collocated intra and extracorporeal sutures, the uroliths were taken out through the optical port inside an endobag. The Mann Whitney analyzed the data with a 99% of significance.

The results obtained were: feasibility 83.3%, morbidity 16.6% and mortality 0%, also there were taken the surgery promedium time (group A 59.16±2.22 min, group B 43.5±22.61 min), recovering promedium time (A: 12.16±1.60 hrs, B: 11.50±5.98 hrs), cystotomy promedium time (A: 1.05±0.72 min, B: 1.16±0.62 min), lithos taken out promedium time (A: 1.25±0.06 min, B: 1.35±0.09 min) and cystography promedium time (A: 20.69±2.04 min, B: 19.54±4.33 min).

The vesical laparoscopic technique shows its feasibility as a rutnary technique in dogs, according to the statistics, the use of three ports is better than four. In general the recovering time was less than 24 hours because of the postoperative pain was minimal due to the small incisions, minimal bleeding and adherences, resulting in a non-limiting Urinary activity to the dogs. The morbidity did not depend on the number of ports, but in the surgical care done in each dog.
