Kate McDuffe

Education

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia, 1989
  • Bachelor of Science, Penn State University, 1983
  • Associate of Arts, Cottey College, 1981

Professional Activities

  • Currently working fulltime at an afterhours ER. General practice small animal and shelter medicine in the past. Member of the GVMA, and (of course) VIN since 1998.

Pets

  • Dac, a Boxer mix who thinks she's a terrier (you should see the holes in my yard!) and George, a spaniel-ish little thing who is basically Dac's chew toy and loves it. I have shared custody of Zack, a DMH who hates the dogs and refuses to stay in the house so splits time between my porch and the neighbor's.

Hobbies

  • I live in the mountains of North Georgia (God's Country) so I try to get out hiking on the Appalachian Trail as much as possible. I usually have at least 3 books I'm in the middle of. I'm a bit of a SciFi geek (hence the picture in the blue wig taken at DragonCon last year). I'm an Elder and the reluctant Clerk of Session at my Presbyterian church.

What I Like Most About VIN

  • Besides having a world of knowledge literally at your fingertips, I have a host of "Imaginary Friends" whom I would have never had the chance to get to know otherwise.
