World Small Animal Veterinary Association World Congress Proceedings, 2001
Petkovic D, and Pavlovic I

In the period from 23.3.-9.6.1999 we examined 127 pet dogs, cats, parrots and guinea pigs for behavioral changes during bombing attacks in Belgrade. We found several different types of behaviour changes. Extreme anxiety, mild anxiety, a change in hygiene habits, presentience, aggressive behavior and other behaviors which were a response to changes in owner behavior, were all seen.

Conclusion: 67.71% (86/127) of examined animals changed behavior under traumatic circumstances experienced during this period.
