Hiring is a challenge, one of the company's greatest tasks. Opening a business with capital is easy, you just need to have money or make a loan. Quite complex is the hiring time. Let's start thinking like this, as a rule: "Hire slowly, fire quickly, and hire frequently."

Think of your team today. Is it good, average or bad? Whose fault is it? Of course it is yours, if you are the owner of the company! You hired them!

To hire well it is necessary to understand of people. Most do not understand much. Study about human personality and behaviors.

First thing is to form a hiring committee, with at least two or three employees. Mix men and women, to reduce prejudices or fixed ideas.

This committee must then, as a second step, analyze the profile of the position for which you will admit. What is the purpose of this position? And then, what are the requirements for this position? The future employee should have what kind of personality and behavior? The third step: what tasks he or she must perform in his daily chores.

Now we must create an ad. At where? On the Internet? In the newspaper of the neighborhood? In a hanging board or paper somewhere? The announcement should be very efficient in order to attract the kind of person you have decided on the committee. People who do not like people will not be hired! It means people who say they love animals and do not like people, will never be admitted into our practice!

If you have studied veterinary medicine because you do not like people, your chance to work with me is small! So put on notice something like: If you love to work with people and animals, come to us!

After the analyses of the "curriculum vitae," you select those who interested most, for an interview. When you have the first contact in person, analyze your posture, behavior and make notes. If the candidate complains too much about life, traffic, take into account the context. The questions you make are essential. Try to get information on their attitude toward life! Hire people who enjoy life, who are positive, who does not complain about everything. Make question on how she would solve real problems you face in your practice.

Medical techniques are learned in courses, but not attitudes. How to teach honesty or to be positive with the life? How to teach happiness to a person? Thus, the questions in the interview should focus on the attitudes. When you hire, put the new employee first as an experiment period of time. Not definite.

And remember, dismiss fast when any attitude is against your policies.
