Roentgenographic indicators of the stages of skeletal development of harbor seal flipper were sought. These data would later be correlated to ages determined by tooth sectioning. A total of 214 flippers were radio-graphed. A number of stages of skeletal development were documented. The technique, which can be adapted for use on live seals, may prove to be an alternative aging method.
