A gravid female harbor porpoise was found on the beach in southern New Jersey. It was placed in a swimming pool before being transported to the New York Aquarium. She died the following day.

Distension and laceration of the vaginal canal indicated prior delivery of a fetus. Teats protruded from their slits and contained milk. A term fetus (18.5 lbs) was found in the left uterine horn. The right horn was dilated. These were interpreted as indicating twin pregnancy.

On necropsy, there was ductular dilation, fibrosis and inflammation in pancreas and liver associated with the presence of flukes. Bronchioles contained many nematodes.
