Common Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Injuries
January 17 - April 28, 2017
Presenter(s): Felix M. Duerr, DVM, MS, DACVS-SA, DECVS, DACVSMR

This course will go through diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of common musculoskeletal injuries seen in our canine patients. Some feline cases will be presented, but the focus is on dogs. The focus of this course is practical information applicable to everyday practice. A large focus will be case presentations including videos of clinical cases. Diagnostic steps and tricks will be covered in-depth. The goal of the course is to give practical tips that help the participant to identify and treat common canine orthopedic problems and to learn more about novel treatment options (including regenerative medicine).

Bees and Veterinary Medicine
February 8 - March 11, 2017
Presenter(s): Meghan Milbrath, PhD, MPH

This course is designed to provide veterinarians with basic information on honey bee health. We will cover basic honey bee biology, honey bee diseases, and how to manage and treat for mites. We will focus on the needs to keep bees in good health, how to recognize a healthy colony, how to identify common diseases and issues in the hive, and what treatments are necessary to bring a colony back to health. No previous beekeeping experience is necessary.
